“Don’t boil the ocean”, after reading this title reader must be thinking that-
 Is the writer out of his mind?
Why I am saying you to boil the ocean?

Don’t worry it’s not the same literary. I will explain the right meaning of the phrase ‘Boiling the ocean’ by an example.

Lets take an example of a student; a lazy student who have not studied anything in whole semester and just before a day he realize that, Oh My God! I need to study and starts studying from the very first unit. Is this possible to complete the entire syllabus overnight?
Some will say yes; for engineers it is possible. Haha, its not possible practically buddy. He will surely score very less mark or possibly he might fails.

Let me give you another example of a mechanical engineer. Imagine an engineer who is form mechanical department working in an IT based firm. He knows nothing about that firm and suddenly got to create a Power Point Presentation about computer science. Surely he will not able to give his best because it is not at all related to his interest.
Now, hope you got the meaning of Boiling The Ocean.

BOILING THE OCEAN- IS IT GOOD OR BAD:  

It is Bad -
Firstly in student life boiling the sea is simply creating difficult condition. Example a student got a assignment about which he is not that much familiar and in other hand lets take he knows the topic quite well, in both condition if he is over thinking that could not performing his best. Here we can say he is boiling the ocean, which is not at all good. with complete patience it can prove fruitful.

It is Good - When you are mature or aware of your deeds in personal as well as in professional life, we can replace boiling the ocean to over warming before any important condition. Take an example of MBA aspirant. We know that to be an good entrepreneur we need to be extra ordinary, good in each and every field, as it is short of an advantage for our further career option.

DISADVANTAGES OF OCEAN BOILING:

There are always a dark phase of any fact or concept. This topic also has some bad effect.
  • ·         This causes over burden to an individual
  • ·         This may causes depression
  • ·         It changes one’s perception toward the things
  • ·         Effect on interpersonal relationship
  • ·         It causes a habit to make/show small issue very big
  • ·         It makes the condition critical


WHAT SHOULD WE DO TO AVOID IT

1.     Learn To Balance Things: Learn to maintain time and to create balance in your life,  so that you will never find any condition of hotch potch.

2.       Be Calm & Composed: If you are mentally stable and emotionally strong, you will     never react without completely observing the condition.

3.       Be On Time: Everyone knows that quote-“Time is Money”, but no one save this  money. So try to be on time and & be consistent.

4.       Live Your Life At Your Best: After all these, the simple and most basic thing is, if you don’t want the condition to arrive where you need to boil the ocean you need to live your life at your best, you need to play your best game, you need to value your time more.


Think your life is a garland of flower, each day is a flower. You are adding a new flower to your garland of your life. The more you live at your best, more beautiful garland will.. So, do not ever boil the ocean and make your garland the best one…
